All-Ages Workshop

March 10, 2018 @ 11:30 am - 1:00 pm

Join Newcomb Art Museum for a family workshop on March 10 where kids and adults will create their own clay masterpieces inspired by NAM’s current exhibitions! Museum staff and teachers will lead multiple craft sessions each designed for children of different age groups where children and parents/caretakers will use clay to make an artwork tailored to their skill sets! Each craft session will focus on skill building, problem-solving, and exploratory art methods specific to age groups. Each group will also be invited to take part in a museum-wide scavenger hunt where kids can discover different ideas present in clay and find inspiration for their own artworks. Our youngest audiences will learn about shape and movement of clay through story and song!

The event runs from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm at Newcomb Art Museum’s location on Tulane’s Uptown Campus. Non-toxic, age-appropriate air dry clay will be used, and all materials will be provided as well as goldfish, juice, and water. Projects can be brought home the same day!

The museum and the family workshop is FREE and open to the public! Contact Tom Friel at tfriel@tulane.edu with questions.
