Help Us Send Crayons On A New Adventure!

Newcomb Art Museum is pleased to partner with Crayon Collection to collect, recycle, and donate gently-used crayons for use by kids in Title 1 and Head Start schools in New Orleans. We invite you to bring your crayons (no matter what shape they’re in) when you visit the museum and we’ll make sure they find a new home!

Did you know?

Over 150 million still-good crayons are thrown away each year. These discarded crayons end up in landfills, where they never decompose.

Meanwhile, U.S. teachers in underserved public schools are spending an average of $900/year of their personal earnings on classroom supplies.

There is a solution.

We can fix that by collecting, recycling, and donating our crayons to others. By bringing your gently used crayons to the museum we can help spread color and kindness to kids everywhere and support Crayon Collection’s mission to inspire a commitment to environmental consciousness and the infusion of art education in underfunded schools.
