Fruit Tree Adoption at Tulane

Would you like to adopt a fruit tree, free of charge, as part of the Endless Orchard project with the artists Fallen Fruit? Pelican Bomb, A Studio in the Woods, and Newcomb Art Museum are partnering to bring artists Fallen Fruit to host a fruit tree adoption at Tulane. Enjoy an artist lecture from sculptor Dee Briggs, whose sculpture "Three Rings 6' Diameter" is currently on display in The Newcomb Pottery Garden. About the sculpture:  Made of corten steel, the twelve-foot-tall sculpture was designed by Briggs in 2015, fabricated in Braddock, Pennsylvania and was previously installed in Foley Square at Thomas Paine Park in Lower Manhattan. NAM is hosting a two-part Carnival shoe-decorating workshop, inspired by one of our favorite Mardi Gras krewes – Muses! Grab your friends and join us for a fun-filled craft session where a member of Muses shows us how to festively decorate a classic Muses shoe! This workshop is limited in size so please register by emailing museum@tulane.edu; $20 for members, $40 for non-members. The registration fee covers all materials plus refreshments.
